NEP 2020

A Capacity Building Programme on NEP 2020 was organized by CBSE, Centre of Excellence for Teachers, Bhubaneswar on Saturday, 10^th December 2022 in Krishnagar Public School, Nadia. The resource persons were – renowned philanthrope and educationist, Principal od DPIS, Chhata, Kolkata Mrs. Anita Brooks and Mrs. Asima Gomes, Principal, Bhaktivedanta National School, Mayapur.

 

60 teachers from different schools in the Nadia Hubs of Learning including Krishnagar Public School (Lead Collaborator), Bhaktivedanta National School, Mayapur, St. Mary’s Arcadian School, Ranaghat, Techno India Group Public School, Nabadwip, Vivekananda Academy, Betai, along with adjacent schools like Chatterjee Noble School, Birnagar participated in the CBP. Even the principals and heads of some of the schools of HoL, Nadia were present as participants.

 

The interactive workshop aimed at enlightening the participants about that holistic reforms that NEP 2020 seek to bring in our education system. The programme started with Venue Director, the Resource Persons and other dignitaries present took part in the the lighting of the lamp ceremony followed by Saraswati Vandana performed by the school choir consisting of students from Middle School to Senior Secondary level. The Venue Director and CBSE Training Coordinator for Nadia District Dr. Sankar Prasad Dutta introduced the Resource Persons and invited his core team to felicitate the dignitaries and declared the session open.

 

The Resource Persons briefed about the changed curricular structure of school education of 5+3+3+4 to be brought about by NEP 2020. They spoke about the salient features of NEP like the emphasis on ECCE and multilingualism and 21^st century skills. The workshop was not only informative but highly interactive and engaging as the teachers participated in several fun activities including singing ‘Jack and Jill’ in Indian languages highlighting the shift to multilingual approach especially in early years. The participants also brainstormed together to incorporate the new pedagogical practices advocated by NEP 2020 into lesson plans for their classrooms.

 

The CBP indeed helped the teachers update themselves on the upcoming innovations in education with the implementation of NEP 2020 and helped them gear up to indeed ‘be the change’ we want to see in the system.
