Hubs of Learning, Nadia which is constantly in the lookout for creating opportunities for its member schools to work in collaboration and support each other in their constant endeavour to growth and development, conducted a two-day workshop on Experiential Learning for the teachers of its member schools on 19th and 20th November 2022. The workshop conducted by CBSE Resource Persons Dr. Ramesh Kumar Agarwal and Ms. Indrani Bhattacharyya was hosted by Krishnagar Public School, the lead collaborator of HoL, Nadia.
The workshop began with Dr. Sankar Prasad Dutta, Principal of the Lead Collaborator school welcoming the 58 participants from the different schools including Bhaktivedanta National School, Mayapur, Techno India Group Public School, Nabadwip, St. Mary’s School, Ranaghat, Vivekananda Academy, Betai and Krishnagar Public School to engage in two days of intellectual exchange to absorb the methodology of Experiential Learning in practice. The welcome ceremony was also graced by Mrs. Ajita Mukherjee, Principal of Techno India Group Public School, Nabadwip who encouraged the participants to have an enlightening couple of days.
The two-day program trained the participant on Kolb’s Learning Cycle and made it lively through several ‘minds on’ activities. The participants not only engaged in an act of reflective thinking but also collaborated to create experiential learning lessons for the simulated situations. The interactive sessions with the two Resource Persons created the platform for the teachers from various schools to collaborate with each other to share their best practices and their new reflections on the pedagogical processes. The inclusion of specific methodologies like the LAAR (Learning Outcome > Activities > Assessment > Reflection) and the vision of including project-based SEWA activities as part of the school curriculum to provide greater exposure and experience for the students motivated all the participants.
In the concluding ceremony, the participants were further motivated by the encouraging words of Mrs. Asima Gomes, Principal of Bhaktivedanta National School. Mr. Sudip Mandal, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya – BSF Krishnanagar praised the efforts of the organizers for creating such a warm learning environment for the last couple of days. Both the dignitaries along with Dr. Dutta distributed the certificates of participation on behalf of the HoL, Nadia.
